March Webinar ~ Winter Botany

MARCH 23, 2021 ~ Muskoka Conservancy's webinar on Winter Botany was presented by Dr. Jane Young.  She talked about how to identify deciduous trees in the winter without their leaves, flowers, and fruits by using their bark, branches, and twigs! Watch the recording to learn some basic botany and tools for winter tree identification, and be absolutely amazed at the beauty of sleeping trees.  Dr. Jane Young is currently on the Board of Directors of the Muskoka Conservancy. She is a retired botany professor from the University of Northern British Columbia, where she taught and researched in the areas of plant physiology, plant anatomy, and ethnobotany.  Jane is enjoying living in beautiful Bracebridge with her husband, Dave, and puppy mill survivor, Pebbles. She spends much of her time volunteering for things close to her heart including advocating for animals, women, and the environment
