Vice President - Elspeth Wood

Elspeth moved to Bracebridge as a permanent resident in the winter of 1974 for a teaching position. Before that, she had spent many summers as a cottager, enjoying the lakes and rivers of Muskoka. She is very passionate about preserving the natural beauty of this area. She has served on several Boards of Directors, including the Bracebridge Public Library and Muskoka Arts and Crafts. With a special interest in students and learning, she volunteered for many years in the Breakfast Programs at local schools. Since joining the Board of Muskoka Conservancy in 2017, Elspeth has been committed to its mission, which is to protect lands and waterways in perpetuity. Now, more than ever, she believes this is an essential undertaking. Elspeth assumed the position of Vice-Chair in 2022.
