June 29, 2022 - Nature Quest

Join Amanda, our Conservation Co-Ordinator, on a quest to spot Muskoka's turtles on our Upjohn Nature Reserve!

 

Hike along the Beaver Pond Loop, stopping to search for turtles and other wildlife at each of the beaver pond lookouts.


Date & Time: Wednesday June 29th, 2022 at 9am ( Rain Day: June 30th 9am)


Difficulty Level: easy-moderate, some uneven terrain with some hills.


Bring: comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen and a hat, bug repellent, water and snacks, and binoculars or a camera if you have them.


Learn about:

  • Muskoka’s 6 species at risk turtles and how to tell them apart
  • Turtle ecology: habitat, diet, life-cycle, and more
  • Turtle conservation and what you can do to help
  • The wildlife that calls Upjohn home: woodpeckers, deer, and more!
