Amanda Porter - Conservation Co-Ordinator

As Muskoka Conservancy’s Conservation Coordinator, Amanda Porter works closely with volunteers to monitor the forests, wetlands, rock barrens, and shorelines of our 51 (and growing) protected Nature Reserves and Conservation Easements across Muskoka. She coordinates various programs and projects including the Nature Quest series of guided hikes. Amanda is a graduate of the Ecosystem Management program at Fleming College where she grew her love and knowledge of the natural world. She has held positions and volunteer roles at various environmental non-profits with a focus on education and creating connections, animal husbandry, and biomonitoring. During her spare time, Amanda enjoys camping, hiking, annual bird migration trips to Presqu’ile Provincial Park, caring for her houseplants and pet corn snake, Vallie, and of course helping turtles across the road in the direction they are heading!
