Vanessa Smith - Conservation Tech

Raised in Newfoundland and now a Muskoka resident, Vanessa holds a B.Sc. in Environmental and Resource Science from Trent University, along with an advanced diploma in Ecosystem Management from Fleming College. Drawn to the beauty of the natural world from a young age, she has a passion for wildlife conservation with a special interest in birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

As a Conservation Technician with Muskoka Conservancy, Vanessa supports field monitoring and stewardship projects. She's been thrilled to encounter species she had long hoped to see, including the at risk bobolink, five-lined skink, and massasauga rattlesnake. Her enthusiasm for wildlife, combined with her technical training and sense of adventure, makes her a valuable member of the conservation team.
